Call for Application: Wales Africa Grant by the Welsh Government: The Welsh Government is pleased to announce the call for application for the Wales for Africa Grant Scheme which will enable community groups and organizations access funding for small-scale Wales-Africa projects. The scheme will cover four thematic areas of Health, Sustainable Livelihoods, Lifelong Learning and Climate Change and Environment. The Grant scheme seeks to support projects that will contribute to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of communities in the African sub-Saharan region. It also seeks to support individuals and groups in Wales and/or Africa to develop new skills and knowledge as well as supporting people in Africa to learn practical/vocational/artistic skills to improve their livelihoods

Grant Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

The grant application is for constituted group, Registered charity, Community Interest Company, Charitable Incorporated Organization, Company Limited by Guarantee, Private Limited Company, Community Council, Town Council, Local Authority.

Applicants will also have to ensure that their organization meets the following criteria:

• The lead applicant must be based within Wales
• All activities should clearly demonstrate a benefit to Wales
• Applications should clearly demonstrate a fit with one or more of the four thematic areas.
• Applicants with prior experience of delivering grant funded activity from the Wales for Africa Programme should demonstrate the impact of this project and any lessons learned.
• Individuals cannot apply; however, they may apply through a host organization, the grant agreement will be held with the organization and no direct payments will be made from the Wales Africa Grant scheme into an individual’s bank account.
• All relevant purchases to be made with Wales for Africa grant scheme funding will consider ethical and Fair Trade criteria.
