This PhD project is part of a DST Group research program to understand durability of composite materials under operational conditions including the effects of water absorption and foreign body impact behaviour. During the course of this PhD the successful candidate will undertake a range of computational and experimental testing to develop the next generation of stent designs. These are commonly used small scaffolding mesh wire devices to open blocked arteries and restore circulation. The work promises improve the lives of more than 2 million stent patients each year world-wide. It covers $43,281 for up to 3.5 years (tax free).
NeuRA (Neuroscience Research Australia) Scholarship for Masters / PhD in Multiple Sclerosis Research
We are offering a scholarship for a full-time Masters or PhD student to work on a research project aiming to improve walking in people with Multiple Sclerosis. The project is funded by MS Research Australia and Multiple Sclerosis Limited and involves an initial cross-sectional study to determine the impact of muscle weakness on impaired walking in people with MS, followed by a randomised-controlled trial to test an effective approach to improve walking in people with MS. This covers $30,000 pa for up to 3.5 years.
