The laboratory investigates the regulation of glucagon secretion from pancreatic alpha cells and the effect of glucagon on whole body metabolism. We are particularly interested in mechanisms related to mitochondria and how changes in metabolic mechanisms alter alpha cell function.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Candidates are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria for the University of Copenhagen PhD scholarship in islet physiology and metabolism 2021
- Applicants must be international students.
- Students admitted into PhD degree program.
- The award is available for PhD degree students in Physiology and Metabolism courses offered at the University.
- Other factors such as community service, leadership qualities, and levels of motivation will also be taken into consideration.
- Based on academic merit
- Students enrolling full time in the Honours program in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicants should hold an MSc degree in Science with good results and
- Good English skills
- As criteria for the assessment of your qualifications, emphasis will also be on previous publications (if any) and relevant work experience.
