Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) now invites applications for a number of its scholarships available for prospective International Students wishing to studying at the university in Taiwan. The scholarships are available for both full-time undergraduate and research students.
Kaohsiung Medical University is a private medical university in Taiwan which offer courses cutting across a number of disciplines from medicine to pharmacy, nursing, health sciences and life sciences. The school awards scholarships for eligible prospective degree students who are pursuing their undergraduate, masters and PhD program.

Program Overview | Kaohsiung Medical University Scholarships 2027
Applicants who possess a non-R.O.C. nationality shall meet the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan (Ministry of Education).
Every type of stipend includes different allowance as:
- Type A: NTD 200,000~260,000 per year (monthly stipend, accommodation coverage and tuition fee are included)
- Type B: NTD 80,000~140,000 per year (accommodation coverage and tuition fee are included)
- Type C: NTD 70,000~80,000 per year (tuition fee)
Undergraduate students can only apply for Type C, Master’s students can apply for Type B and Type C, Ph.D. students can apply for all types of the scholarship. Failure to follow the instructions above may affect the result of application.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Scholarships for International Students, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be international students.
- Undergraduate Program: Applicants must have a senior high school diploma obtained from an overseas high school or a foreign or bilingual school in Taiwan. The qualification or its equivalent must be recognized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education (M.O.E.) and verified by an R.O.C. representative office.
- School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a university or independent college recognized by the M.O.E. The qualification must be verified by an R.O.C. representative office. Applicants who previously studied in Taiwan under the International Students Admission Channel, as specified under Article 4, Paragraph 1 of the relevant regulations, must provide a certificate confirming their enrolment through this admission channel in a Bachelor’s degree programme or higher.
- Master’s Program: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a university or independent college recognized by the M.O.E., or possess an equivalent qualification. The qualification must be verified by an R.O.C. representative office. Applicants who previously studied in Taiwan under the International Students Admission Channel must provide a certificate confirming their enrolment through this channel in a Bachelor’s degree programme or higher.
- PhD Program: Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or higher from a university or independent college recognized by the M.O.E., or possess an equivalent qualification. The qualification must be verified by an R.O.C. representative office. Applicants who previously studied in Taiwan under the International Students Admission Channel must provide a certificate confirming their enrolment through this channel in a Bachelor’s degree programme or higher.

Application Procedures
Interested applicants for the KMU International Student Scholarship should complete their application online by following the steps below:
Step 1: Visit the Online Application Portal
Go to the KMU Application portal and select either Undergraduate Program or Master/PhD, depending on the degree you wish to pursue.
Create a personal account to begin your application. Applicants can apply for up to three programmes. Applications submitted without online registration will not be accepted.
Step 2: Read and Accept the Declaration
Carefully read the application declaration and agree to the stated terms and conditions.
Make sure you complete all required fields on the application form. If any required field is left blank, the application form may not be saved successfully.
Step 3: Complete the Online Application
Fill in all the required information on the online application form for your selected programme(s). Review the information carefully to ensure that your personal, academic and programme details are correct.
Step 4: Upload the Required Documents
Upload all required application documents through the online application system. All required documents must be uploaded before the application deadline. Applicants applying to the School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine must also pay the required application fee.
Step 5: Print and Sign the Application Form
After completing the online application form:
- Print out the completed form.
- Sign the application form.
- Scan the signed copy.
- Upload the scanned copy back to the application system.
Step 6: Provide Your Referees
Applicants must provide at least two referees for each programme they apply for. If you are applying for more than one programme, make sure the required referees are properly set up for each programme.
Step 7: Submit Your Application
After completing the application form, uploading all required documents and providing your referees, review your application one final time.
