Call for Application: ASPIRE Prize Award 2020: Applications are requested from young scientists for the APEC Science Prize for Innovation, Research and Education (“ASPIRE”) prize an award for 2020. The prize is an annual award which recognizes young scientists possessing a commitment to both excellence in scientific research, as evidenced by scholarly publication and cooperation with scientists from other countries.
Annually, the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) host economy is tasked with the responsibility of providing a theme to guide nominations for the ASPIRE prize to be awarded in their host year. The these for the 2020 year is “Biodiversity for a Prosperous Economy”. Each member economy through its representative on the Policy Partnership for Science, technology and Innovation (PPSTI), is invited to nominate one young scientists under the age of 40 to be considered for the 2020 ASPIRE Prize.

Award Eligibility and Selection Criteria: To be considered for the Call for Application: ASPIRE Prize Award 2020, applicants are to meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be citizens of any APEC member economy nominated for the ASPIRE Prize.
- Applicants must be young scientists under the age of 40 as of 31st December, 2020 (all 2020 nominees must be under the age of 40 as of 31st December, 2020).
- Applicants must be outstanding in scientific research as shown by scholarly publication.
- Applicants must show commitment to cooperation with scientists from other APEC member economies.
- Applicants must contribute to the theme of “Biodiversity for a Prosperous Economy”.

How-to-Apply
Each member economy is to nominate one young scientist under the age of 40 to be considered through their representation on the APEC Policy Partnership for Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI).
Qualified individuals are encouraged to complete the “Local Nomination Form” and send it to PPSTI Program Director Ms. Eva Nakamura ([email protected]) before the application expiration deadline.
