Government of Taiwan MOE Scholarship for Undergraduate and Graduate Students: In addition to scholarships offered by NTU, students applying to NTU can also apply for scholarships with the government of Taiwan. This scholarship is applicable to Bachelor, Masters and PhD students.
Ministry of Education (MOE) Taiwan Scholarship is one of the scholarships offered by the government of Taiwan to overseas students undertaking degree or language studies in Taiwan. This award has duration of 4 years for bachelor’s, 2 years for master’s and 4 years for PhD.

Government of Taiwan MOE Scholarship 2021 | DETAILS
This scholarship offered by the Ministry of Education is available for students from countries ineligible for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship. Please note that these scholarships are applied for directly with the relevant ministry or with the Taiwan overseas mission in your home country. NTU is not involved with the application of these scholarships and cannot provide assistance with your application.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Government of Taiwan MOE Scholarship for Undergraduate and Graduate Students, candidates must meet the program requirements listed below.
- Candidates from any Nationality are eligible.
- Candidates must hold high school certificates to apply for a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Applicants must hold Bachelor’s degree to apply for a Masters Degree program.
- Applicants must hold Masters Degree to apply for a PhD degree program.
- Based on academic merit.
- be under 35 years old for undergraduate courses or under 40 years old for postgraduate courses.
- Candidates must be in good health, and not hold a criminal record.
- Be able to take up the award within the scholarship year.
- Not be under any bonding requirements at the commencement of this award.
- Candidates must be healthy both physically and mentally, excellent in academic standing and with good conduct.
- Applicants may not hold any other scholarship at the same time.
- Taiwan language proficiency.
Scholarship Benefits
- For bachelors: tuition waiver of up to TWD 40,000 (USD 1,333) + monthly stipend of TWD 15,000 (USD 500).
- For master’s and PhD: tuition waiver of up to TWD 40,000 (USD 1,333) + monthly stipend of TWD 20,000 (USD 666).
Application Procedures
How-to-Apply: To be considered for the Government of Taiwan MOE Scholarship 2021, candidates must have been accepted into a full-time degree study programme and institution, or should show proof of application when requested.
- If you receive a conditional scholarship offer, you MUST confirm an offer of placement and obtain forms from your National Scholarship Office; download forms, or collect forms from accredited tertiary institutions in Taiwan and ensure that all sections of the application form is completed with certified supporting documents attached.
- Ensure that the completed application is endorsed by the National Scholarship Authority and Ministry of Education (or External Affairs) prior to submission to the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
