University of Sydney WNS Global Services PhD Scholarship | Details
This scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a PhD student to undertake advanced research within the discipline of Business Information Systems at the University of Sydney Business School.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Candidates are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria for the University of Sydney WNS Global Services PhD Scholarship
- Applicants must be international students.
- The award is available for PhD students with background in Research in Business Information Systems related courses offered at the University.
- All PhD candidates who apply to the Discipline of Business Information System will be considered, however, no scholarship offer will be sent until the applicant has an unconditional offer of admission.
- Applicants must be willing to undertake advanced research within the discipline of Business Information Systems in the University of Sydney Business School.
- Applicants must also hold an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class upper) or a Master’s degree in a related field with a substantial research component.
- The candidate is expected to have a Master’s degree or equivalent.
- The candidate should be fluent in English (written and spoken) and should be comfortable working in a team as well as independently and quickly acquire knowledge in new topics.
- PhD applicants will be required to have at least a basic right to work in the host country
Selection Criteria:
The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the basis of:
- Academic merit,
- Area of study and research proposal,
- Curriculum vitae,
- The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship by the nomination of a selection committee consisting of the Head of the Business Information Systems Discipline, Director of Doctoral Studies in the University of Sydney Business School and another academic from the Discipline of Business Information Systems
Scholarship Benefits
The benefits of the University of Sydney WNS Global Services PhD Scholarship in Business Information Systems include;
- Stipend allowance of $35,000 per annum (indexed on 1st January each year) for three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The scholarship can be extended for 6 months.
- The Scholarship is for commencement in relevant research period in which it is offered and cannot be deferred or transferred to another area of research without prior approval.
- Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree prior to the commencement of the Scholarship will be deducted from the maximum duration of the Scholarship excluding the potential extension period.
- No other amount is payable.
