The International Scholars Program Awards commensurate with the student’s demonstrated financial need and is sufficient to cover living expenses and tuition costs for the duration of the study. The award is renewable provided the student continues to satisfy academic standings, continues to demonstrate financial need, and maintain Canadian study permit (student visa).

Eligibility Criteria | UBC International Scholars Program 2025
To be eligible for the International Scholars Program 2025 at University of British Columbia in Canada, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be an international student studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit
- Must be entering UBC from a recognized secondary school or transferring from the first year of a post-secondary institution
- Must have graduated from high school no earlier than one gap year before the academic year of application
- Must be applying for your first undergraduate degree
- Must demonstrate superior academic achievement (all As or equivalent)
- Must show financial need that otherwise prevents pursuing a UBC degree
- Must meet UBC’s admission requirements, including general, degree-specific, and English Language standards

How-to-Apply: Applicants for the UBC International Scholars Program 2025 are advised to go through the application page and decide on the academic program they want to enrol in and at which campus they want to carry out the study.
NOTE:
- To apply for the International Scholars Program, you must be nominated by your school or non-profit, and submit a reference from an academic referee.
- Gather your required financial information, as well as notes on any extracurricular activities and awards.
- Submit application for the International Scholars Program by November 15.
- Submit your admissions application to UBC by December 1.
