Nature Research Awards 2021 for Driving Global Impact: Applications are now open for the Nature Research Awards 2021 for researchers who are addressing global challenges in several areas of scientific research.
Applications from early career researchers from developing and emerging STEM nations are highly encouraged for the 2021 research award cohort. The prize will be awarded to one winner and two runners up. The winner will receive a grant of USD 30,000 while the two runners up will receive USD 10,000 each.

Nature Research Awards 2021 | ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for the Nature Research Awards 2021, applicants must:
- Be employed by a university, research institute or any other not-for-profit organisation.
- Hold a PhD or clinical doctorate, one of which awarded not earlier than 1st January 2006.
- Lead an independent research group established within the past 5 years as of 1st January 2021.
- Demonstrate the application, or potential application, of their research to make a positive impact on one of the global challenges above.
- Note that the reference date for calculation of the eligibility period should be the date of commencement of the first independent research project led by the team leader named in the application.

- Food security, water security and/or energy security.
- Healthcare interventions.
- Environmental protection.
- Climate change.
- Sustainable cities.

Award Benefits
