The Australian Government is pleased to announce the Recruitment of Construction workers who are willing and ready to relocate to Australia in order to address the shortage of man-power in its construction industry. The program is officially known as the Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP).
The offer comes with free visa support services and financial incentives of up to $10,000 Australian dollars to encourage and support construction workers from other countries to relocate to Australia and take up job roles in their construction sector.

Construction Visa Subsidy Program | DETAILS
The new Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP) is a flagship program of the Australian Government to support Western Australian construction businesses to fill the demand for a skilled workforce.
The program will provide grant payments of up to $10,000 to support skilled migration visa pathways for workers and assist in offsetting expenses such as migration agent fees, visa application fees and relocation costs.
The program can either be activated as WA employers (CVSP Employer Sponsored Stream) and independent skilled migrants (CVSP State Nominated Stream).
Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility criteria for the Australian Government Recruitment for Construction Workers:
- Be sponsored by a CVSP employer as a skilled migrant in one of the following visa subclasses – 482, 494 or 186;
- Sponsored CVSP employer must be headquartered and undertaking building and construction work in Western Australia.
- Be granted a visa through the WA State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) in one of the following visa subclasses – 190 or 491;
- Be employed by a business headquartered and undertaking building and construction work in WA; and
- working in an eligible occupation.
Application Procedures
How-to-Apply: Interested applicants for the Australian Government Recruitment for Construction Workers are to follow the following steps to apply:
Step 1
Lodge an Expression of Interest in SkillSelect to indicate your interest in WA State Nomination.
Step 2
If you have not already linked with an eligible WA employer, you can enter your details on the Skilled Migrant Employment Register (SMER).
Step 3
Once you have been approved for State Nomination and your visa has been granted by the Commonwealth’s Department of Home Affairs, register your arrival and visa approval with Migration Services.
Step 4
When you have commenced your employment with an eligible employer, and received your first payslip, complete the CVSP State Nominated Stream – Milestone 1 – Claim Form to receive your first payment.
Step 5
When you have completed six months of work in WA’s construction industry, complete the CVSP State Nominated Stream – Milestone 2 – Claim Form to receive your final payment.
