The Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship is designed for high-achieving international students applying for eligible bachelor’s and master’s coursework programmes at Adelaide University.
Successful recipients receive a 50% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of their programme, subject to maintaining the academic requirements of the scholarship.
Applications are assessed by a selection panel on merit, with scholarship offers made throughout the recruitment cycle until the available allocations have been exhausted.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international student.
- Be applying for an eligible CRICOS-registered bachelor’s degree of at least 96 units (two years equivalent) after any credit or Recognition of Prior Learning.
- Alternatively, apply for an eligible CRICOS-registered master’s degree of at least 72 units (1.5 years equivalent) after any credit or Recognition of Prior Learning.
- Meet the required academic achievement for the scholarship.
- Not be applying for one of the programmes specifically excluded from the scholarship.
- Not be an Australia Awards recipient.
- Not be an international sponsored student receiving a tuition fee waiver equal to or greater than the value of this scholarship.
To meet the academic requirement, applicants must have achieved one of the following in the qualification used for admission:
- Undergraduate applicants: Minimum ATAR of 99, or an international equivalent.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate applicants: Minimum overall GPA of 6.7 on a 7.0 scale, or a comparable result.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful recipients receive:
- 50% reduction in international tuition fees.
- Scholarship support for the minimum standard full-time duration of the eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme.
Recipients must maintain a minimum Program Term GPA of 5.5 on a 7.0 scale during each compulsory study period to continue receiving the scholarship.
If a recipient’s GPA falls below the required level, the scholarship may be suspended. It can recommence once the student returns to the required academic standard.

How to Apply
Unlike some Adelaide University international scholarships that are awarded automatically, the Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship requires a separate scholarship application.
Interested applicants should:
- Apply for admission to an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme at Adelaide University.
- Ensure that the programme meets the scholarship requirements and is not included among the excluded programmes.
- Check that your academic results meet the required ATAR or GPA threshold.
- Complete the appropriate Adelaide Academic Excellence Scholarship application form provided by the University. A separate application form is available for SATAC applicants.
- Provide the information and supporting documentation requested in the scholarship application.
- Submit the completed application for consideration by the University’s selection panel.
Eligible applications are assessed competitively based on academic merit. Successful applicants will be notified before commencing their studies, and the scholarship will be included in their Offer of Admission.
