MA funding for UK/EU and International Students At University of York 2020: University of York offers MA funding for International students. This Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholarly merit and the competition is open to UK, EU and Overseas students starting one of the MA programmes listed below at the start of the 2020-2021 academic year. Their courses are designed and taught by innovative world experts who are at the cutting-edge of current research into English literature and related subjects.
Award of a scholarship will be dependent on the candidate having been accepted for a qualifying MA and having met any conditions set by the University of York. If an incoming student gains both full MA funding from outside the Department and the full internal scholarship they will be expected to take up the external funding and relinquish the internal scholarship so it can be reallocated to another student by the Department.

- MA students joining the Department of English and Related Literature in September 2020
- English Language Requirement: The following are acceptable for evidence of English Language test proficiency of the University of York: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic), PTE Academic, Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Cambridge Proficiency (CPE), TOEFL iBT (internet based), Trinity ISE.
Eligible Courses: The following are the Masters level courses offer by the Department of English and Literature at the University of York – MA English Literary Studies, MA Film and Literature, MA Global Literature and Culture, MA Literature of the Romantic Period, 1775-1832, MA Medieval Literatures and Languages, MA Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture, MA Poetry and Poetics, MA Renaissance Literature, 1500-1700, MA Victorian Literature and Culture.

If you would like to be considered for an MA Scholarship, you need to complete a short supplementary application form and return it to english-enquiries@york.ac.uk on or before the deadline.
Document Requirement: The following documents maybe required at the time of admission: Pre-qualification degree, Copies of academic transcripts and award, Certificates of English language proficiency, a statement, a copy of passport. For taking admission in postgraduate taught courses at the university, you are to have: The equivalent of a UK upper second class honours degree (2:1), some courses accept lower second class honours degrees (2:2) combined with relevant professional experience and/or vocational qualifications.
