The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2025 is open to young climate and clean energy practitioners across the Global South seeking to broaden their technical skills, deepen their professional networks, and exchange views with top global clean energy and climate change leaders in the USA.
The five-month, three-part initiative program is based out of Yale’s International Leadership Center with partnerships throughout the university. Fellows engage with prominent Yale faculty and a network of top practitioners to explore key issues in the global clean energy and climate change agenda. Climate Fellows are drawn from a wide variety of professions.

Eligibility Criteria | Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2025
To be considered eligible for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2025, candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
- Applicants are expected to have 5 to 10 years of professional experience with demonstrated accomplishments at a regional, national, or international level.
- There is no maximum age limit, but the program seeks young leaders.
- Applicants must be representatives of the Global South, with a diverse representation from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean.
- Applicants must be fluent in English, as an excellent command of the language is essential for full participation in the program.
- Climate Fellows must be available in-person for two program weeks: Yale Orientation (April 7-11, 2025) and Paris Closing Week (September 15-19, 2025).
- Fellows must also be available for five remote learning journeys between May and early July 2025.
