University of Adelaide Australian Research Council PhD Scholarship | DETAILS
Successful students will be supervised by Prof Mathai Varghese and either of Dr Peter Hochs or Dr Guo Chuan Thiang. Topics include: Index theory, geometric analysis, noncommutative geometry, mathematics of condensed matter physics, coarse geometry and topology. Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Candidates are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria for the University of Adelaide Australian Research Council PhD Research Scholarship;
- Applicants must be international students
- Applicants must be admitted into PhD degree program.
- The award is available for PhD courses in Pure Mathematics/School of Mathematical Sciences offered at the University.
- Have completed their qualifying Masters program of study;
- Be a domestic student or an international student at the time of application and enrolment;
- Enroll as a commencing student in a full-time PhD research program in Pure Mathematics/School of Mathematical Sciences/ University of Adelaide in the approved semester
- Other factors such as community service, leadership qualities, and levels of motivation will also be taken into consideration.
- Based on academic merit.
- Applicants must have a High school certificate or equivalent
- Students enrolling full time in the Honours program in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.
- Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

- For the duration of the scholarship the recipient will receive a 100% Tuition Fee Waiver
- A stipend of AUD$28,092 (2020 rate, indexed annually) per annum.
