The HDR Scholarship applications are now open. This PhD scholarship is available to initiate and conduct research on the topic ‘Population dynamics of shorebirds in peril’. This research is partially funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council. This scholarship is available over 3 years. Stipend of $28,106 per annum tax exempt (2020 rate) International students only: Tuition fees offset for the duration of 4 years. Single overseas student health cover policy for the duration of the student visa.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
Candidates are expected to posses the following eligibility criteria for the Deakin University HDR Scholarship;
- Applicants must be domestic or international students.
- The award is available for PhD research program offered by the University.
- Students enrolling full time in the Honours program in the semester for which the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree certificate or equivalent in the relevant field
- Applicants must have MSc degree certificate or equivalent in the relevant field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Independent thinking and analytical aptitude for devising innovative scientific or technical solutions.
- Demonstrate capacity for effective independent work and as part of a team
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, flexibility and confidence
- Candidates must be highly motivated, responsible, and able to work independently in a structured manner, has good interpersonal and communication skill.
- Applicants must hold an offer for a full-time program at Deakin University, Australia
- English Language Requirement: Applicants are required to provide evidence of meeting the Deakin University’s minimum English language proficiency requirements.
