David Sainsbury Scholarships 2025 | Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Fully Funded David Sainsbury Scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.
- You are a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2024-25 for entry in 2025-26 academic year.
- Must have obtained relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Must demonstrate excellent academic and research abilities.
Scholarship Benefits
- The full cost of the tuition fee (£35,450 international fee for 2025-26).
- Maintenance grant (exact value at the UKRI postgraduate researcher stipend level to be determined for 2025-26; in 2024-23 it was £19,237).
- Additional £4,000 for travel costs (subject to valid economy class travel receipts).
Application Procedures
How-to-Apply: Interested applicants for the David Sainsbury MSc Scholarship are to apply for admission into the master’s programme at the University of East Anglia for the 2025/26 academic session. Applicants will be considered for the scholarship provided they meet the eligibility criteria, on a competitive basis. No separate application is required.
Applicants should note that they will be evaluated for the scholarship based on the same criteria used to evaluate your application to enroll on the course. The criteria are: academic achievement and academic awards together with knowledge/experience/potential of molecular biology, genetics, molecular interactions, data science such as bioinformatics and statistics, laboratory skills, and independent study.
