AGNES-BAYER Science Foundation Research Grant: Applications are invited from researchers in the field of Biodiversity Conservation & Sustainable Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa for the AGNES-BAYER Science Foundation Research Grant.
The grant is funded by the BAYER Foundation and with the support of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) aimed at helping junior researchers strengthen their scientific capacity.

AGNES-BAYER Science Foundation Research Grant | DETAILS
AGNES is a network organization established by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in conjunction with African Humboldtians to support qualified young scholars from sub-Saharan Africa through four main programmes: AGNES-PAWS Intra-Africa Mobility Grants for Women in STEM, AGNES Intra-Africa Mobility Grants, AGNES Junior Research Grants and AGNES-PAWS Junior Research Grants for Women in STEM. These programmes aim to identify and support highly qualified young Sub-Saharan African scholars. The grant will provide up to EUR 7000 for the successful applicants to be used for their research.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AGNES-BAYER Science Foundation Research Grant, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be junior researchers having published at least 1 scientific paper (in a non-predatory journal)
- Be from Biodiversity conservation and/or Sustainable Agriculture discipline.
- Must be officially registered for a doctoral degree at a university/tertiary institute in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Be a national of a sub-Saharan African country.
- Must demonstrate clearly that their work is relevant to development in sub-Saharan African countries.
