African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge: Applications are invited from young entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 35 for the AfDB African Youth Adaptation Fund Challenge. The award will provide a business grant of up to $100,000 to winners.
The call encourages young entrepreneurs, innovators from micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and other youth-led and youth-owned enterprises in Africa, to implement solutions for building resilience and adapting to the adverse impacts of climate change.

The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have launched a call for applications for the first edition of the African Youth Adaptation Solutions (YouthAdapt) Challenge. With a strong focus on youth and gender, winners of the Challenge will be given grants of up to $100,000 to help them scale up their businesses and the opportunity to participate in a 12-month business accelerator program.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Challenge, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be young African entrepreneurs, innovators from micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
- The business entity must be owned or led by a youth.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years at the time of application.
- Businesses must have the ability to provide solutions for building resilience and adapting to the adverse impacts of climate change.

Application Procedures
How-to-Apply: Interested applicants for the African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge are to submit their business plan through the official submission portal on or before the close of the application window.
Note: Twenty youth-led enterprises will be shortlisted at the end of the application window and invited to submit videos for a jury panel review ahead of the finals and an award ceremony at COP26 in Glasgow on November 8, 2021.
