Scholarship value ranges from about $3000 and up to $30000 depending on awardees’ study level and duration.
The scholarship supports postgraduate students and honours degree students in Art History, Art Theory, or Fine Arts at the University of Canterbury. By accepting the award, recipients permit publication and announcement of their acceptance and indicate that they are willing to engage in University community activities, such as student mentoring, acting as University ambassadors, and being involved with University publicity as appropriate.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria: To be eligible for the UC Ethel Rose Overton Scholarship for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies in New Zealand, the following criteria are set down;
- Scholarship is open to both domestic and international students
- Applicants must be enrolled, or intending to enrol, at the University in a degree programme
- Applicants’ enrolment should be in one of the following degrees:
BA(Hons) in Art History, Art Theory, or Fine Arts
c. MA in Art History, Art Theory, or Fine Arts
e. PhD in Art History, Art Theory, or Fine Arts
(Recipients of the scholarship who are studying for a PhD must be enrolled full-time).
