Engineering for Development Continuing Education Scholarship for Low-income Countries

Here comes an opportunity for students from developing countries to take advantage and engage in the 2020/2021 Engineering for Development Continuing Education Scholarship for Low-income countries award. The scholarship seeks to make travel and living expenses available to successful applicants from developing countries to attend continuing education studies at ETH Zurich. The scholarship aims at enhancing the awareness and skills of upcoming leaders with the view of increasing their human capacity in developmental and poverty alleviation in their respective countries of origin.



 

Scholarship Sponsor(s): ETH for Development (ETH4D)

Scholarship Type: Full

Scholarship level:  Postgraduate

Scholarship Worth:  ETH general tuition fee waiver, economy roundtrip ticket, visa fees, living allowance for the duration of the programme.

Subject Eligibility: All programmes of the ETH Zurich continuing education are eligible.

Country/Candidate Eligibility: Scholarship is for students from low-income countries.

Scholarship Selection and Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be in possession of a completed and recognized Master’s degree from an institution of higher learning (University) and two years proof of professional work experience.
  • The applicant must show proof of TOEFL level C1
  • The scholarship is for applicants from countries designated as Least Developed, Low-income and lower-income countries according to the DAC-list of the OECD.
  • Applicants are to be accepted by the School of Continuing Education, ETH Zurich as well as the MAS, DAS or CAS programme office.

Important Notice: Only applicants who have been given admission into an ETH MAS, DAS or CAS programme based on academic performance and professional achievements will be considered for a scholarship position. Applicants must therefore apply for both the continuing education programme and the E4D scholarship.

Application Procedure for the 2020/2021 Engineering for Development Continuing Education for Low-income Countries

How-to-apply

Applicants are to submit their application documentation in one single pdf-file format to [email protected]

The application documents must include the following:

  • CV of the applicant
  • Sc. or Masters Diploma and academic transcript(s).
  • An application letter (1-2 pages) stating the motivation to attend the programme and the impact for the applicant’s career development and beyond.
  • Two professional references.
  • Applicants are also to send formal admission letter by the School of Continuing Education confirming that the applicant is admitted to the MAS, DAS or CAS programme.
  • Applicant are to present certificate of employment letter. This letter must be sent to the E4D programme office directly through the employer and not the applicant.
