PhD Scholarship at University of Oxford Transport Studies Unit, 2020/2021: Applications are invited from PhD students by the Transport Studies Unit, School of Geography and the Environment of the University of Oxford for a three year fully funded postgraduate (Dphil/PhD) Scholarship award from a citizen of South and South East Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean and island countries in the Indian or Pacific Ocean. Applications are for all but preferences will be given this year to female candidates as women are under-represented in the field of research touching Transport Studies. The scholarship encourages applicants with special interest in gender and urban mobility, climate change adaptation in urban transport to apply. The thematic areas for the scholarship includes: Energy Climate and Environment; Everyday Life and Justice; Health and Well-being; Politics, Power and Governance.

Scholarship Eligibility and Selection Criteria: To be eligible for the PhD Scholarship at University of Oxford Transport Studies Unit, 2020/2021, Applicants must:

How-to-Apply

• Applicants must submit a cover letter stating the motivation for the scholarship application.
• Applicants are to submit a research proposal with 3,000 words maximum elaborating their topic, objectives of their research, methodology and contribution to academic literature.
• Applicants are also to present a sample of their written work. For example, a chapter of their Master’s dissertation.
• Applicants are to submit detailed curriculum vitae which should include the GPA score for their master’s degree or its equivalent.
• Applicant to supply the names of three (3) referees who will be contacted if candidate is successful.
