Scholarship Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

• Applicants for the International Achievement Awards (IAA) at Western Washington University must be an international student to be eligible to apply.
• Applicants must have obtained an excellent result in their high school prior to being offered admission to study at the undergraduate level at Western Washington University.
• Applicants are to note that a minimum of 3.0 GPA is required for annual renewal of award.
• Applicants who are admitted conditionally pending successful completion of the Intensive English Program (IEP) may be eligible after successfully completing IEP and matriculating in credit-bearing classes at Western.
• Applicants are to note also that the IAA cannot be combined with other first-year scholarships such as the WAE or WAA.

Other important notice:

• Applicants are selected based on information available in applicant’s application for admission, including essay, cumulative GPA, evidence of English proficiency, and submission of the application by the application deadline. No additional scholarship application is required.
• If selected, recipients are notified of their scholarship by mail after the point of admission. Recipients of IAA will be eligible to a reduction in non-resident tuition in the form of partial tuition waivers for up to four (4) years. Recipients will receive an annual award of $2,500 which under four years will be $10,000.
