In 2020, two three-year scholarships will be funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of their Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP). Also, the Berlin School of Mind and Brain at HU Berlin will offer a number of three-year “Mind & Brain” scholarships.



Scholarship Sponsor(s): Berlin School of Mind & Brain and DAAD and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Scholarships to be taken at: Germany.

Scholarship Type: Full/Partial Scholarships/Research Funding.

Scholarship level: Postgraduate

Slots: Several.

Subject Eligibility: All research programmes at the partner universities.

General Eligibility and Selection Criteria: To be eligible for the Mind & Brain and DAAD Scholarships for International Students; the following conditions hold

  • Applicant must be an International Student
  • Applicant must be the best international student coming to Germany from abroad especially for their doctoral studies or residing in Germany.
  • Applicant must be interested in pursuing the PhD degree program at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain.

Application Procedures for the Mind & Brain and DAAD Scholarships for International Students to Study in Germany – How-to-Apply: 

Applicants interested in receiving these grants are needed to be enrolled in a PhD degree coursework at Berlin School of Mind and Brain through its online application tool. Once selected by the Berlin School of Mind and Brain for membership in the school, the school’s admission committee will select those international students most suitable for the opportunity.
